The Black Friar Inn for golf holidays in Maine, USA
Black Friar Inn providing accommodation in Bar Harbor Maine, for golf breaks and golf vacations in Maine, USA.
Gracious. Comfortable. The Black Friar Inn is a uniquely restored Victorian home surrounded by a perennial flower garden. Mantels, bookcases, windows, and finely crafted woodwork from turn- of-the-century "cottages" on Mount Desert Island shape every part of the Inn. Seven romantic guest rooms are tastefully furnished with period antiques and beautifully decorated. Fine linens dress your queen or king-size bed, soft carpets pamper your feet, and each room has a private bath.
Rooms comfortably accommodate one or two people; the suite has a sofa-bed for two more. Sorry- no rollaways or cots. All rooms have ensuite, private bathrooms with showers, individual air conditioners & heaters. Rates include delicious gourmet breakfast, late afternoon refreshments, and rainy day teas.
Breakfast at the Black Friar
All of our breads, sweet treats, and cinnamon buns are prepared in our own kitchen. Breakfast is full, fresh, delicious! Entrees change daily and feature seasonal fruit, juices, Belgian waffles, eggs du jour, cereals, hearty pancakes, French toast, quiche, breakfast meats, fresh blueberry muffins, homemade toast, cinnamon buns, fresh-brewed coffee, and teas
The Black Friar Inn rests on a quiet side street in picturesque Bar Harbor ~ just a short walk from a swirl of activity. Tour the bustling harbor filled with lobster boats, schooners, yachts, and cruise ships (the QE2 is a regular visitor). See the lovely Porcupine Islands or visit Acadia National Park which is only a few moments from the Inn. The second most popular park in the United States, Acadia is a true gift. It offers the very best of Nature's treasures. Cold, blue waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. Dramatic, glacial cliffs braced against the sea. Thick, rolling fog. Lush, green, aromatic pine forests. Wildflowers in profusion. Tall, silent mountains. The morning sunrise. Evening sunsets. Rich, starry nights. And in the autumn, a stunning rainbow of leaves. Walk. Sail. Bike. Swim. Sea kayak. Photograph. Enjoy. Golf.

White Birches Golf Club
This course is challenging because of the water hazards that come into play on three holes. Additionally, there are out-of-bounds areas on four holes and sand bunkers on six holes. The fast greens are sloped, and there are numerous trees that can alter your shots.
