Quinta do Scoto has a long historic past, having been visited by many of the Portuguese Royal families. Napoleon's Army camped in the grounds during their invasion, attracted by the extensive water supplies, aquaducts and stone irrigation tanks.

The Quinta, located in the village of Melecas, is within walking distance of 4 cafes and 4 restaurants. A train station in the village provides links to Lisbon and Sintra. Sintra is a 10 minute journey by car and a vast selection of beaches can be found within a 1/2 hour drive. Breakfast is served in the Entrada and comprises freshly baked bread, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee. If guests prefer, a basket of breakfast goodies can be delivered to their room for them to enjoy either in the comfort of their suite or at one of the many stone tables in the grounds of the Quinta.

Eight spacious suites are available six overlooking the pool .

The Adega Suite adjacent to the house has two bedrooms (one with double bed and double sofa bed, and one with twin beds) with sitting area and dressing room. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower in a converted wine press, with wc, bidet and washbasin in a courtyard theme.

The Sr. Meira Suite located in the main house has a bedroom with double bed and single bed, and sitting room with double sofa bed. There is an en-suite bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, bidet and double washbasin.

The accommodation in the converted barn comprises 6 spacious suites each with a large ensuite bathroom. Two suites have a separate sitting room. All but one suite have 2 double beds and a double sofa bed; the remaining suite has 2 twin beds and a double sofa bed. Some suites are linked for larger groups. Located 20 minutes from Lisbon Airport (with no traffic). Convenient to drive to or with a short 10 minute taxi to EntreCampos Railway Station and a 25 minute journey direct to Melecas Station, where we can meet you.

With its excellent variety of holes, the course is a pleasure to play, whatever one's handicap level. It demands both skill and tacticall play and is acknowleged both locally and internationally as one of Portugal's best constructed layouts. Many outstanding holes can easily be remembered even after playing the course only once.  The golf valet service and reception provide a pleasant, informal touch in the traditional hospitable Portuguese way, in order to make visitors welcome and felt as if at home.

Lisbon Sport Club - Golf Course

Lisbon Sports Club blends harmoniously into a romantic landscape. This is a golf course that demands both skill and imagination because of a stream that influences at least 12 of the holes.  A number of difficulties, woods to the left, stream on the right, and bunkers on both sides challenge the player even with his first shot. Then, before the golfer is properly warmed up, he has to face a Par 3 of 180 metres in length. Up until the final hole, (a tricky Par 4 crossed in the middle by the stream), the player can enjoy unforgettable contact with nature, and admire the cypresses, the eucalilpti and wild flowers, while at the same time facing up to shots that tax the imagination.

Penha Longa Golf Course

Penha Longa Golf Club is situated in the foothills below the historic town of Sintra.  Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1992, this course enjoys breath taking views of the ocean and the Sintra Hills.  Penha Longa Golf course offers a contrasting selection of holes. None more notable than the 460 yard par 4 17th. From an elevated tee you play towards the hills, normally with a stiff breeze against you, to a slightly dog-legged fairway that sweeps up towards the raised green.  Penha Longa Golf Club should be top of your list of courses to play in this area
